Difference between IELTS and PTE

In the PTE Academic you must:
  • Write an argumentative essay of between 200 and 300 words in 20 minutes
  • Recapitulate a slab of text into a single sentence in approximate  10 minutes
  • Recapitulate a spoken lecture into 70 words in 10 minutes
In IELTS Academic you must:
  • Describe a graph/process in at least 150 words in 20 minutes
  • Write a 250-word essay presented in various formats in 40 minutes

There is a big difference between PTE and IELTS as unlike IELTS PTE is an online internet based test. More importantly, PTE is totally free of human intervention; it is a Computer-based computer-assessed test. All the items in PTE are machine scored. In a way, PTE is the new age language ability test that is free of any culture or native skill bias whereas other tests of similar nature involves human intervention at the same stage assessments can get influenced by external factors, such as appearance, personality, body language, flow of thought but this does not happen in automated scoring test, where impartiality on all these counts is built-in and one can be sure to judge only on language performance.
Comparing the essays is the most apparent place to begin for the reason that both tasks are the biggest and most prolonged.
In PTE Write Essay a student has 20 minutes to write a 200-300 word argumentative essay. In IELTS Writing Task 2 there are different numbers of essay types that a student may see, and they have 40 minutes to write at least 250 words. Overall, it’s easier to score a higher mark in PTE as compare to IELTS.

In this kind of chart students should use sequential connectors.  Some commonly used sequential connectors are: First, Next, Then, After t...
