IELTS Life Skills is an English language test offered by the IELTS Partners – The British Council, IDP. IELTS Life Skills is a test of Speaking and Listening and is available at CEFR Levels A1, A2 and B2. It is designed to meet the requirements of UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) for certain visa categories and other immigration purpose.
What is the layout of the IELTS Life Skills test?
The new IELTS Life Skills test has been designed to meet precise immigration requirements for which applicant only need to exhibit Speaking and listening skills. You take the test with an additional test taker and one examiner. Your own presentation on both Speaking and Listening will be assessed during this one meeting.



IELTS Life Skills at CEFR Level A1 takes 16–18 minutes, IELTS Life Skills at CEFR Level A2 takes no more than 20 minutes and Level B1 is 22 minutes. There is no break between speaking and listening components as you will be assessed on both skills at the same time.

Tasks and Evaluation: The tasks in IELTS Life Skills are designed to reflect the everyday experience of communicating in an English-speaking country. You will be expected to take part in short discussions on everyday subjects including:
         Personal details/experiences
         Family and friends
         buying goods
         Work
         Health
         Leisure
         Education/training
         transport/housing
         Weather.

At times during the test, you will be allowed to take notes to prepare your answers. The examiner will not mark your notes – only your speaking and listening skills are marked during the test.

Results:-
