This test is conducted every year by ETS and it is good for 5 years.
Paper Based Test:- It lasts for about 3 hours and 45 minutes, but it is offered in those areas where a computer-based test is not available. This test contains:
ü Analytical Writing:- One section with distinct tasks separately timed; 30 minutes per task.
ü Verbal Reasoning:- Two sections; 25 questions per section; 35 minutes per section
ü Quantitative Reasoning:- Two sections;25 questions per section; 40 minutes per section.
Computer Based Test:- lasts about 3 hours and 45 minutes, comprises:-
ü Analytical Writing:- One section with distinct tasks separately timed; 30 minutes per task.
ü Verbal Reasoning:- Two sections; 20 questions per section; 30 minutes per section
ü Quantitative Reasoning:- Two sections;20 questions per section; 35 minutes per section.
Note:- Except slight difference in a number of questions and its duration the material and types of question in a Paper-based test and computer-based test are same.

After completion of each section you will get one minute for relaxation or to calm down yourself.
How the GRE is scored
Three separate scores for the GRE are:-
1. Verbal score for 130-170, in 1-point increments
2. Math's score from 130-170, in 1-point increments
3. Analytical writing score from 0-6, in half-point increments
Verbal Reasoning
This section of GRE tests complexes reasoning skills and your ability to analyze the relationships between words and sentences. For this knowledge regarding vocabulary is must which is taught in Dreamweaver. It comprises of three types of questions namely:
1. Reading comprehension(including Arguments)
2. Text completion
3. Sentence Equivalence.
Reading Comprehension
It contains a passage regarding which certain questions are asked and it is definitely not the way students used to do in their schools or college. The length of the passage will vary from one to several paragraphs. There will be 12 to 15 passages and from about one to one to about six questions on each passage. It contains different types of questions like:-
Text Completion
These are fill-ups type question in which you will be asked to select one entry for each blank from the corresponding column of choices. You will find about six text completion questions in each verbal reasoning section. It can be of three types:-
Sentence Equivalence
These questions are also fill-ups type questions but the only difference from text completion that in sentence equivalence, for one blank two possible answers are marked and not one.
