SPECIAL RESEARCH SECTION IN THE NCLEX RN EXAM If you are planning to appear for the NCLEX RN examination between July and September 2017 there is a high chance that you may be given an opportunity to participate in the Special Research section at the end of your NCLEX RN examination. Once you have finished all your questions in the examination, you will be asked whether you wish to participate in the Special Research section. “This section is designed to collect data on new item types that could expand or enhance the measurement of entry-level nursing competence including clinical judgment”, according to the NCSBN website.
