Definition:
The word that links noun, pronoun or noun phrase to other part of sentence is known as preposition. It is used to describe the position, direction, movement or time.
Some common prepositions are on, in, at, above, under, below, into and so on.

Use it to express a surface of something:

Use it to indicate the state of something:

  • The school is on fire.
