How to answer multiple choice questions in IELTS Reading
Multiple choice questions task type is very common in IELTS Reading test. The aim of this type of task is to look for a specific type of information by scanning the passage, analyzing the options and choosing the most suitable answer from the given choices. The MCQ is of two types: the one in which only one option is needed to choose out of the four alternatives and the question when students need to find more than one answer out of a long list of alternatives.

The strategies to answer this task type are:-
§ read the statement carefully for finding keywords
§ underline the keywords and look for the information in the passage
§ read the options and eliminate the contradicting options
§ read the remaining options carefully
§ pay attention to qualifying words if any
§ choose the best option according to your understanding
