SAT QUANTITATIVE

Created by the College Board, the SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) is an entrance exam used by most colleges and universities to make admissions decisions. The idea (in theory, at least) is to provide colleges with one common criterion that can be used to compare all applicants. However, it is just one factor in the admissions decision. Schools also consider your high school GPA, academic transcript, letters of recommendation, extracurricular activities, interviews, and personal essays. The weight placed on SAT scores varies from school to school.

SCORING CRITERIA

Test-takers will get three separate scores, one for the Quantitative (the math), one for the Verbal, and one for the essays. Math and Verbal scores will range between 200 and 800. Essay scores range between 0 and 8.

GENERAL STRATEGIES FOR MATHS

STRATEGIES TO BE USED WHILE DOING MATHEMATICS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

  • Start with the basic concepts of every chapter.
  • Make formula sheets appropriately.
  • Revise all the formulas daily for first three weeks of the course.
  • Use of calculators is allowed in one longest section in SAT test but try to do the calculations by your own.
  • Start solving sums related to formulas first and then shift to intermediate level and then go for hard level questions where four to five steps are needed to solve the question.
  • The SAT test is conducted just to check the basic ability of a test taker in quantitative aptitude so concepts of every chapter should be cleared.
  • Each question in SAT test worth the same. Whether it is easy or difficult, whether it took you 10 seconds or a minute to answer, you get the same number of points for each correct answer. So try to manage your time accordingly.
  • There is no penalty for wrong answers, so leave no question unanswered.
  • Try to solve the sums without using calculators and in few seconds. It may help you to enhance your calculation level and speed.
  • Once you have completed your review and practice, take some online tests to have a real test experience and try to simulate actual testing conditions.

Interpreting Process Diagram   In IELTS , process diagram is a less common but still very important task type as students are required to use specific language to interpret the relevant information. In this task type, the steps are shown through visual information.   The process may be natural or man-made.     Here are some tips to interpret this task type correctly to get high band score.   •The initial thing to decide about a process diagram is the tense usage: if the chart includes a natural process, use present indefinite tense but if it is a man-made process, then, write it in present passive tense as in a man-made process the emphasize is on steps not on the person conducting the process. •The second thing to decide is the use of connectors to make the task coherent. In this kind of chart students should use sequential connectors.  Some commonly used sequential connectors are: First, Next, Then, After t...

Best Coaching Institute for PTE in Jalandhar

Why PTE? Many candidates come and ask the same question again and again that why PTE, why not IELTS. Just to clear this question first of all I would like to say that it all depends upon the candidate’s choice which exam he/she prefer, but it is also very important to know about both the exam what they are and what are patterns of that exam. However, there are many benefits of PTE ( Pearson Tests of English ) on other exams are like, Firstly it is computer based exam - All the modules are on the computer specifically the person who are good at writing and familiar with the computer it is easy for them and also for the candidates who’s handwriting is very bad and also for the them who feel hesitation when they speak in front of others.   Secondly, the result is pretty fast because it is checked by computer -  Candidates who are in hurry to know their results and want to fill the further papers, usually go for PTE because you can have your result withi...
